First Cruise: On June 30, 20110 we kicked off our first cruise serving Bethesda Naval and a couple of Marines who had suffered life changing injuries from surviving combat explosions. Guests enjoyed RC boat racing, driving the yacht, swimming and a great meal while anchored on one of the best islands off of the bay.
Second Cruise: On July 27, 2010 we served more wounded Marines whose injuries ranged from TBI to missing eye. They enjoyed innertubing, swimming, rc boat racing and a great cruise on a half a million dollar luxury yacht.
Third Cruise: On June 23, 2011 we took out our first fishing charter. This group brought in the legal limit of rockfish and had a blast taking a break from the hospital.
Fourth Cruise: On July 20th, 2011 we served 5 parents who all had sons at the hospital with a combined loss of over 10 limbs. They had a great break from the hospital.
Fifth Cruise: On September 27, 2011 we decided to take out two large fishing boats. Both vessels brought in a great catch as we served our first veterans in wheelchairs and a couple who was overcoming the challenges of TBI for the husband.
FISHING CHARTER: The day starts with breakfast of fresh donuts and bagels. Our experienced crew safely welcomes aboard our guests assisting with the transfer on the vessel for those requiring assistance. We do cater to veterans in wheelchairs who are able to fish right from their wheelchairs. We take a comfortable cruise on our large fishing vessel down the bay to the main fishing grounds. Our Captain pings other vessels to ensure we drop our lures where the fish are biting. Our First Mate keeps the bait coming as we start to bring in the famous rockfish. Fish over 18inches in length are keepers. After bringing in our catch we enjoy fresh cold cuts and drinks and then start the cruise back to the marina. Our First Mate will fillet the catch on the trip back. We provide courtesy t-shirts or other small gifts to conclude the event and send our guests home with fresh fish to grill when they get back to the hospital.
SAILING YACHT: Future outings may include sailing yacht charters out of Annapolis.
